Answer: When I was home as a kid we would make red and green chains out of paper, thread popcorn and cranberries on a string and use them. We also had all kinds of colored candles in holders. We also had pretty ornaments. We got to light the candles on Christmas Eve and Christmas night. They were fastened on the ends of the limbs where they would start anything on fire. Our tree looked beautiful. After Christmas we put the tree in the back yard and the birds ate the cranberries and popcorn from the tree.
Here on the Cook Family History Blog, I will be posting items on the various lines of my family tree so that my family can learn more about their heritage. I am going to start with my grandparents surnames-Cook, Buchmiller, Proctor, and Williams and branch out from there. I feel genealogy is so important and want my family to know where they came from. I hope to post some treasure hunts for them to do to find out more about their ancestors.
