Answer: They had county fairs where people took their cooking dishes and food they made hoping for the blue ribbon. Utah State Fair was held in Salt Lake City. They had all kinds of booths and also rides there. I enjoyed going and just looking. I also went the to fair in Blackfoot, Idaho.
